My First Meraki... and hopefully not my last ??
Before Meraki, I knew almost everything about it. The beautiful stories shared by the veteran riders @?Divya Pal Das D2G Cycling? @?Rahul Shukla D2G Marshall Cycling? @?Pushpraj Laleet Saxena D2G Cycling? @?Tarun Pushap Wadhwa D2G Cycling? @?Seema Kaushik D2G Cycling?
I just wanted to experience it first hand under Tarun's Leadership and Veteran's togetherness, and finally was able to do it... with added fun of new riders.??
Before the ride my friend shared a quote with me:
"Which is more important", asked the Big Panda, "the journey or the destination?"... "The company" replied the little dragon.
And I felt the same. Everything was about the companionship of 32 riders with 8 crew members. A big voyage set to sail in unchartered territories.
As I drove with my 3 comrades, listening to the bhajans, to the rock music and then some 90's numbers... the drive felt like a piece of cake and in no time we entered the beautiful city of Chandigarh.
Visiting Chandigarh and not visiting to Sukhna Lake for a walk, is like going on a trek in the mountains but not reaching the summit.
After such a tiring day I was happy, at least I could have a peaceful sleep before my first ride... but no... the sleep never came but the much awaited day surely came. ????
All set for Solan... on the route which I have been travelling almost every year since 2000. From bus to car and now finally to cycle. What an upgrade it is?.
Dragging my 3 companions @?Divya Pal Das D2G Cycling? @?Deepak Bansal Apeejay? @?Pushpraj Laleet Saxena D2G Cycling? to places which have always been close to my heart only to reminisce. From Timbertrail to Giani da dhabba and finally to Barog Heights where I am sure these 3 wanted to throw me off the cliff... what a climb they covered with me just for my memories which ended up to be our new memories ??
Finally the happiness of reaching Pinegroove and enjoying the bon fire with dancer @?Rahul Shukla D2G Marshall Cycling? @?Prateek Sharma D2G Cycling? and our belly dancer @?Tarun Pushap Wadhwa D2G Cycling? .
The bonfire couldn't give me as much warmth as the togetherness of my fellow riders gave me.
Finally I slept peacefully before next day's off roading.
While on off roading... riders actually went off road. Bang... accidents... but everyone was safe only because of D2G's immediate MEDICAL response team????
What a day...
From speeding like a cheetah to climbing like a sloth...
During all this, not even a single second passed while thinking about anything except the ride because D2G team took care of every little aspect... Motivation... nutrition... safety... everything.
And now when I am giving words to my feelings I felt a little sadness that the Meraki 3.1 came to an end but it just striked me... before BY HEART MERAKIAN, I am BY SOUL D2GIAN.
See you on weekend rides. Cheers to every single one of you...????
Stay safe, Ride safe. ????????????
Thank you team #Dare2Gear for organizing such a #motivating, #enthusiastic and #selfchallenging ride for the riding community. Despite Covid, we all could make it and give our best. Well supported ride by @D2G Cycling Group Tarun Wadhwa & his team. Special mention to the Camera people for their continuous on toe presence on road with their cameras making us smile to continue on the uphill or downhill journey was also a motivation to give a bright smile picture and happily continue the ride.
Did merakis series of Dehradun - Dhanaulti - Dehradun & Rishikesh - Tehri and a GoldenTriangle odyssey but this was different and memorable. Had a lot of learnings that I can use for my next mountain biking trails. Amazing passionate co-riders full of zeal for Meraki3.1, everyone was just best in performance. We had enough fun and have good thoughts shared, some were live sharing it and some were sharing in thoughts.
Dare2Gear team does come up with more merakian spirited rides or events which challenge us and motivates us to move one step ahead in our achievement list whether it?s a passion or just interest. Looking forward to more merakian events
Kudos to #Dare2Gear & Team
Hip Hip Hurray to Dare2Gear Meraki3.1
Wishing them success for the year-long events and the Merakian Spiritevents
