My trek to Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib was a fun filled adventure . It all began with a bus ride from Noida to Govind Ghat. An overnight journey , where a group of 20 odd strangers ended up becoming friends . Bonding over jokes, antakshani and UNO. Even the bad weather ( it was continuously raining) didn't dampen our spirits! This trek toughened me up . My clothes and shoes were soaking wet , the hotels were damp and dingy (even the best ones) and the rain kept falling relentlessly. Yet...the camaraderie was very high ! We were all in it together . Our team leaders Varun and Shashank gave their 100 percent . They kept us going ...pushing us , motivating us further . They ensured that all were safe 'n' sound . Even if it meant going up and down the mountain trail . Their energy was infectious. The trek to Hemkund Sahib was tough. It was really cold by the time we reached the top. The hillside near the gurudwara was covered with beautiful yellow flowers called the brahma kamal and the view was breathtaking. The arduous climb was worth it . I was a little disappointed with the Valley of Flowers ...though it was beautiful , it was not as colourful as I had imagined. But even then I do not have any regrets. I came back with a lot of great memories which are there to stay ...
