Tour Overview
Who doesn’t want to be at the top of the world? The Chandrashila Mountain peak can make this happen for you. Chandrashila treks are one of the most popular treks among Indian trekking enthusiasts. The trek to the peak is 5 km. The trek route that starts from Chopta takes one to Tungnath. Well, it’s not the highest peak but a moderate trek via Tungnath to Chandrashila is worth it. Watching other beautiful peaks like Nanda Devi(7,817m), Trishul(7,120m), Kedarnath(6,831m), Bandarpunch(6,316m) and Chaukhamba(7,138m) from Chandrashila peak will make you feel blessed. Tungnath is always the starting point of the Chandrashila summit trek and it is the highest Shiva Temple in the world, at a height of 3,680 meters.
Itinerary
- Assemble at the boarding point at Noida-Electronic City Metro Station and meet our Trip Captain.
- After a brief introduction session led by the Trip Captain, we’ll head towards Chopta.
- Enjoy an overnight journey to Chopta and socialize with your co-travelers.
- En route to Chopta, make a pit stop at Devprayag to witness the beautiful Sangam of Bhagirathi & Alaknanda.
- Further, we will take a halt for freshening up and having breakfast before continuing our journey towards Chopta
- Reach Chopta in the early afternoon. After arriving in Chopta Valley, check in to our scenic property (camps/cottages), freshen up, and have lunch.
- Have some leisure time, and then from Sari, begin your trek to the mesmerizing Deoriatal Lake; it’s a trek of around 3 kms/1.5 hrs.
- By reaching Deoriatal, you can witness an amazing and mesmerizing sunset, with its reflection on Deoria Tal Lake; these sights are truly breathtaking.
- Afterward, trek back to our stay, enjoy a warm bonfire, and savor snacks under the shimmering night sky.
- In the evening, we will have a home-style cooked dinner, followed by an overnight stay in the camps/cottages.
- Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the beautiful sunrise and have breakfast.
- After breakfast, drive to the trek starting point and commence our trek to Tungnath, one of the Panch Kedar and the world’s highest Shiva Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
- The first checkpoint will be covered upon reaching Tungnath Temple, then trek further to the magnificent Chandrashila Peak situated at 12,110 ft (if weather and conditions permit).
- Chandrashila peak provides views of the Himalayas, including Nandadevi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch, and Chaukhamba peaks.
- Trek back to Chopta village and drive back to our property for some leisure time.
- Get ready for a warm bonfire and snacks with a light music session in the evening.
- Savor a home-style cooked dinner and enjoy an overnight stay in camps/cottages.
- After breakfast, check out and head back to Delhi.
- If time permits, we can arrange a visit to Dhari Devi Temple and white-water rafting in Rishikesh, but that would be at your own cost.
- Reach Delhi early in the morning with lots of amazing memories and unforgettable experiences.
Inclusions
- Transportation from Delhi to Delhi: By AC & Comfortable Bus/Tempo-Traveler/Cab.
- 3 days & 2 nights accommodation on a sharing basis: Swiss Camps/Homestay/Cottages.
- Experienced Trip Captain/Trek Guide and assistance from crew members.
- The captain will be present at all times during the tour.Bonfire (if weather permits) during the stay and local explorations as per the itinerary.
- Veg Meals: Lunch (1), Dinner (2), Breakfast (2), and Evening Snacks (2), starting from lunch on Day 1 to breakfast on Day 3.
- All required permits, driver allowances, toll taxes, parking charges, and state taxes.
- First Aid Kit, Goodie bag comprising dry fruits, biscuits, chocólates to have while on the trek, and water bottles during the journey.
- Trek Certificate.
Exclusions
- GST (5%) is applicable extra.
- Early check-in at the hotel.
- Extra drinks, tea, snacks, and any extra meals apart from the ones mentioned under inclusions.
- Travel insurance, items of personal nature like porterage, tips, laundry, etc.
- Any entry fees, extra expenses for optional activities, room heaters, or tickets, unless quoted in inclusions.
- Any other costing involved due to circumstances like natural calamity, weather conditions, riots, roadblocks, landslides, or any other forced circumstances which are out of our control.
- Cost of snow-chained or 4×4 vehicle if needed due to heavy-snowfall.
- Any other services not specified above in inclusions.

Absolutely! Many participants choose to embark on our treks solo, while others come with a friend or two. Participants often leave with new connections, turning their trek companions into an extended family. The shared experiences create lasting memories that are cherished forever.
To ensure a comfortable and safe trekking experience, please consider the following items to carry:
- Windproof jacket
- Warm and thick fleece or full-sleeve woolen sweater
- Thermal innerwear (upper and lower)
- Woolen cap, gloves, and socks (both woolen and regular)
- Scarf/muffler (optional)
- Comfortable trekking shoes
- Lightweight floaters/sandals/slippers
- Raincoat/poncho
- Small, lightweight towel
- Sturdy water bottle (avoid empty Bisleri bottles)
- Cap/hat and sunglasses
- Walking stick/trekking pole
- Lunch box, spoon, and tea mug
- Sunscreen lotion and lip balm
- Torch/flashlight (with extra batteries)
- Personal medications and toiletries
If you haven’t trekked before, no problem – you’re still welcome to join us! Just make sure to incorporate regular fitness activities into your daily routine. For those with a more sedentary lifestyle, it’s recommended to prepare physically so you can fully relish the mountain climb and the entire trekking experience.
Focus on building endurance and strength through regular walking, gradually progressing to jogging and running. Aim to run at least 2 km in 15 minutes or walk continuously for at least an hour without breaks.
